"We believe in inclusive Church - church which does not discriminate, on any level, on grounds of economic power, gender, mental health, physical ability, race or sexuality. We believe in Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ."
All Saints is signed up to this bold statement,. We joined the Inclusive Church network in 2016.
Inclusive Church is an educational charity founded in 2003 and as an umbrella organisation seeks to offer support and guidance to churches and individuals who share the statement of belief set out above. It seeks to confront the generic problem of discrimination within the Church by promoting an inclusive view of the Scriptures, and by appealing to the values of social justice.
There are now over 250 churches nationwide that have registered as ‘inclusive’ and we are very pleased to be one of them. However, joining the network and getting the logo was only just the beginning! As with our religious rituals, the outward display of faith needs to be translated into an inward journey of the heart and then out again in practical action.
