At the heart of every wedding service stands a couple who love each other and who wish to make a loving commitment in the presence of God. Every couple should remember that weddings do not need to be big, elaborate or expensive occasions. Our historic church and surroundings provide a wonderful backdrop to any wedding, large or small. In whatever way you wish to celebrate your relationship we would be delighted to work with you to create a special and meaningful ceremony. For those looking for an affordable and local wedding reception venue Fearon Hall is situated just across the Parish Green, alternatively speak to us about hosting your guests in the church building after the ceremony.

Who can get married at All Saints?

If one of you lives in the parish or have what is called a 'qualifying connection' see the form below for details, you can ask to be married here and if you are not sure if you qualify please get in touch and we shall see what we can do to help.

If one or both of you has been married before this does not necessarily prevent you getting married here but a member of the clergy will want to talk this through with you. We recognise that some marriages do end for all sorts of sad and painful reasons so in certain circumstances the Church of England accepts that a divorced person may marry again in church and this has been the case since 2002.

Sadly the law does not currently allow us to conduct wedding ceremonies for same sex couples, (something we are hoping will change) however we would be pleased to help you celebrate your marriage after a civil ceremony, please get in touch to discuss with a member of the clergy team how we can help.

How much does it cost?

The standard legal fees for a Church of England wedding are set nationally and for 2022 are £512 if you both live in the parish and will come to £560 if you choose to get married away from where you live.

Other optional items that carry a cost which we will discuss with you are fees for organist, choir, bell ringers and vergers. We would not want financial hardship to prevent anyone from getting married so do please let us know if you are on a tight budget and will advise you on how we can help.
