This month we shall be discussing 'Incarnational Ministry: Being with the Church' by Samuel Wells.

Sam is Vicar of St Martin-in-the-Fields, London and the author of many books and described by Justin Welby as 'one of the finest priest-theologians of our time.' His theological approach to Christian belief and practice has led rise to a course called Being With that we have been helping to pilot over the last year. This book unpacks in a deeper way some of the themes of what it means to consider 'with' the most important word in the Christian faith.

From the blurb to this month's book:

'Incarnational Ministry explores the concept of being with in eight dimensions: presence, attention, mystery, delight, participation, partnership, enjoyment, and glory. Its vivid narratives and wise reflections challenge readers to deeper discipleship and more vital ministry as they explore what it means to be with the troubled, the hurt, the afflicted, the challenged, the dying - and all who are embraced by the church's incarnational ministry.'

Ministry is not something only carried out by those who are ordained, we all play a part in the ministry of the church. This book will be real food for thought for anyone with an interest in how we might develop at All Saints as well as stimulating our own faith.

Meeting in the Fearon Hall cafe at 8.30am where drinks and a range of breakfast options are on offer, Breakfast Book Club meets every 4 - 6 weeks looking at a different book each time and is a relaxed and informal conversation open to anyone to come along.
