Service of Nine Lessons and Nine Carols

All Saints Christmas Services

The famous Nine Lessons and Carols Service which is held in Anglican churches at Christmas all across the world today was originally devised by the first Bishop of Truro, Bishop Edward White Benson in 1880.

The service takes us through nine biblical passages from the Old and New testaments, interspersing with various carols, hymns and other classical pieces.

Both our Adult and Youth choir will be singing performing pieces old and new including a brand new anthem composed by Olivia Sparkhall as well as leading the congregation in singing much loved Christmas Carols.

Poetry by Rowan Williams and Edward Muir is included alongside the traditional bible readings.

Refreshments will be served after the service. All our welcome to this free event.
