Sunday Holy Communion

Farewell to the 37th Rector of All Saints, Revd WendyDalrymple*
Our main Sunday morning service that takes place each week is Holy Communion and everyone is welcome to attend. Led by an ordained member of the ministry team lots of people take part making this an act of worship where everyone can participate if they wish.
Hymns and songs are led by the choir or music group and different people do the bible readings and prayers each week. Servers carry the processional candles and help set the altar-table for communion.
A sermon is preached drawing on the scripture readings for the day helping us connect our faith with the world around us.
Children are welcome to come to this service, and today there will be activites to take part in during the service or if little ones get very restless there is a parent led creche room where the service can be heard through a speaker. But we welcome the noise of infants in to our midst and hope that everyone feels able to feel at home in our worship.
Today is particualrly special as it will mark the last occasion when Wendy, who has been our Rector for the past 8 years, will preside and preach. The music for our worship will be led our Contemporary Music Group who will lead our singing.
The choir will aslo be joining in, singing a modern hymn that has come to be something of an anthem for All Saints. The words to the hymn 'For everyone born a place a the table,' encapsulate the heart of the ministry of welcome that Wendy feels called to and the inclusive community we are seeking to be at All Saints.
'For everyone born, a place at the table,
to live without fear, and simply to be,
to work, to speak out, to witness and worship,
for everyone born, the right to be free'
Whoever you are, you will find a welcome at Loughborough's historic parish church.
*We shall also be saying goodbye to Wendy at 4pm for a Civic Service of Choral Evensong where the Mayor of Charnwood will be joining us. All are welcome to attend this service which will be sung by the choir of All Saints.
