Revd David Newman

David is a retired priest with Permission to Officiate (PTO) worshipping at All Saints and contributing to the ministry team having moved to Barrow-upon-Soar two years ago.

He served in Leicester Diocese over a long period – first as Rector of Emmanuel Loughborough (the next door parish to All Saints) then as Archdeacon of Loughborough and finally as warden of Launde Abbey the retreat house for Leicester and Peterborough Dioceses. David writes 'sadly my wife Helen, who was also in ordained ministry, died a year into retirement but I still enjoy my wider family of three children and seven grandchildren. I have had one book published – “Growing up into the Children of God” - which explores the nature of Christian maturity, and hope in retirement to have time for more writing.'
