The June Project...a practical display of community service of love.
Loughborough Churches Partnership (LCP) is a unity movement of the churches in the town of Loughborough. We believe there is one church in Loughborough, with multiple expressions. Our unity is founded on the Lordship of Christ, the head of the church. United in our diversity, we believe the church is a key player in bringing transformation to our town.
For the LCP, a major event in this Year of Participation is the June Project. The 3-day events of practical stewardship and service to the community was preceded by a briefing night held on Wednesday 24th May at Loughborough Baptist Church. This was an evening of worship, prayer, and the all-important safety briefing.
The 3-day project (June 1-3) started each day with Worship and Prayer held at the Baptist Church, Baxter Gate from 9am to 9.30. Then volunteers from the churches dispatched into groups to participate in community service at various locations for about 3 to 4 hours. An Incredible 3 days...over 120 volunteers serving and loving our town for Jesus in practical ways. Earth was moved, faces painted, concrete poured, paint applied at the Wellbeing Centre, litter picked at Bell Foundry and Warwick Way estates, bench completed at Loughborough Market place, gardens transformed at the Memorial Garden and at the Hut Garden, new friendships made in various locations within our beloved city.
WOW…members of the Loughborough Church Partnership are proud to be salt and light in our communities. It’s been wonderful to meet new people and work together as a team to serve Loughborough. See you next year.
